The logo above was created by our webmaster,
Jeff Beaty, and features a full moon and the Milky Way over
one of the many fourteen-thousand foot high mountains that
surround our valley -- Mt. Princton.
The logo is actually a combination of three
photos. The photo of Mt. Princeton is actually a daytime shot
taken by Richard Beaty, another AVAS member, and digitally
altered by Jeff. The image of the Milky Way was photographed
one cold night in South Park by Richard, and altered by Jeff.
The photo of the moon was adapted from a photo found on one
of NASA's websites ("I've forgotten which one..."-JB).
We think the resulting logo gives you
a good impression of why we love this area of Colorado so
much... beautiful mountains and crystal clear night skies.
