Crestone, tucked as it is against the base of Kit Carson Mountain, one of the many 14,000 plus foot mountains in the Sangre de Cristo range, is an excellent starting place for a vigorous hike. Man-made trails as well as open forest invite you to explore nature first hand. If you're looking for something more challenging, a short drive will bring you to Alamosa or Salida, both of which have multiple "Fourteeners" to climb, as well as rock climbing walls in Penitinte Park outside of Alamosa.
Below you’ll find listings for guides in the wilds outside of Crestone on foot.
