Join the 21st Annual Ice Fishing Derby at Twin Lakes, Colorado–the region’s longest competitive ice-fishing derby! Spend two days ice fishing at scenic Twin Lakes, and you could bring home your biggest fish (and fish tales) ever. Last year, more than 200 people joined for fishing fun. Join us this year for a fish-filled weekend and a chance to win competition prizes, bucket prizes, and raffles.

The Derby will award cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for Mackinaw, Rainbow, Brown and Cutthroat fish, based on the weight of individual fish. Maybe you’ll top the record of a mackinaw weighing 30 lbs., 5 ¾ oz!

For a $5 raffle ticket, you could win a portable ice shanty and an ice auger, as well as this year’s Ruger M77 Bolt Action .22-250 with scope. Or maybe you’ll take home a bucket prize. Last year, the Leadville Rod & Gun Club gave away $8,000 worth of goodies. Be sure to bring the kids–there’s a free children’s competition complete with prizes.

Then apply for the Ice Fishing Derby! If you need a paper application, visit 1) the Leadville Sanitation District office at the corner of McWethy Drive and Highway 24 South or 2) Saturdays Mercantile, located south of Leadville at 12655 US-24, across from the Little Red Schoolhouse.
