When you come to Florissant, you come for the fossils. Over 50,000 specimens have been unearthed and categorized in the Fossil Bed National Monument.
When the fossils have been explored, the National Forests around Florissant beg to be seen. Scenic byways, incredible fishing in reservoirs and rivers nearby to hike, backpack or mountain bike through are all just a stone’s throw away.

With South Park so close to Florissant, winter takes on a glow all its own. Ice fishing, skating, cross country skiing and snowshoeing are a glimpse of the outdoor adventures in store.
