MINING STORIES AND SONGS
MATT MIKULICH AND SCOTT ADAMS
Matt Mikulich always had an interest in mining because it was in his genes. Two generations of men on his mother’s side were coal miners in Pennsylvania. He has visited mines all over the US and Europe and has studied Colorado history as a second hobby. He now lives in the Colorado Mineral Belt near famous mining camps in Leadville, Fairplay, Buena Vista and Cripple Creek. He is a retired geophysicist. Matt is a “folk-style” guitarist and balladeer.
Scott Adams is also a geophysicist who moved to the area after retiring. He is an accomplished “finger-style” guitarist. He has played many solo gigs and last year he played backup for the Mountain Strings and Mountain Minstrels. He is an acoustic guitar builder.
In 2006, Matt Mikulich developed the Mining Stories and Songs show combining his interest in mining and the history of Colorado. Scott joined him in mid-2006 and they have performed many times together. Although they have several shows, the one being performed at Gold Rush Days is the Mining Stories and Songs.
Come and enjoy these wonderfully talented men.
