Many come to St. Elmo every summer to hike the incredible trails and see the historic paths that men of the mines once traveled. You can hike or bike the old railroad path and come across the Allie Belle Mine as you make your way to the old Alpine Tunnel. Or you can chose to set off from the parking lot of the Colorado Trail and hike the ascending 10 miles for a workout. Many climbers of the local Fourteeners pass through here as a "must-see" ghost town on their adventures through the wild. If a Fourteener is what you want to conquer, you can do that here too.
