Whether you're after a scenic drive in the car up Tincup Pass or Cottonwood Pass, the latter a little to the North of St. Elmo, or a trip on your mountain bike, you'll find plenty to see near this little ghost town. Beyond the town itself, which is an incredible thing to see, you can bike either from the base of the Colorado Trail uphill 10 miles to St. Elmo, or chose an easier route by checking out the Hancock/Alpine Tunnel trail. Do note that a great deal of these roads are closed if not restricted during winter months, as conditions become unstable and dangerous.
