Colorado Springs has you covered for mountain recreation. Nestled at the base of the infamous Pike's Peak and at the cusp of the Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs is home to Seven Falls, a 181 foot waterfall cascading over 224 steps; home to the Pikes Peak Marathon, a race to ascend Pike's Peak itself and back down into Manitou Springs and a short drive from such geological wonders as Cave of the Winds, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings and Garden of the Gods. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a must see when you visit as are the many pioneer museums in town and the hot air balloon festival in summer months.
