ATV Historic Color Tour

Annually the Buena Vista, Colorado Chamber of Commerce hosts a community charity event called the “Historical Color Tour”. Participants from around the country come to this off-road rally and mountain festival to visit the area’s old mining sites and ghost towns on self-guided OHV tours. Ride to near the top of a 14,000-foot mountain, cross the Continental Divide, and take in the fall colors as the Aspen trees change to “gold”.  Buena Vista is in south central Colorado, the heart of 14’er country, the greatest concentration of 14,000+ foot peaks on the continent.

The mountain scenery and fall colors will take your breath away.  Visit mining ghost towns, see some of the old buildings, travel in the foot steps of history as you ride over mountain passes that once carried gold and silver ore by mule wagons to the railroads below.

The original “Otto Mears Toll Road” and the Bonanza mining district beyond are alive with a time when gold and sliver were part of every man’s dream.The nearby mountain trails offer OHV rides for all skill levels, from easy forest roads to much more challenging…if you dare. Night time is get together time with BBQ’s, entertainment and prizes.

“Pardner, I’m ah telln ya, thars Gold in them thar hills”, both in the ground and on the trees. So, hookup your wagon (with your OHV onboard) and come to the best fall mountain festival on planet earth. It’s guaranteed to be 8,000 feet above average.
