Being so close to South Park, it’s no wonder people flock to Woodland Park each year for world class fishing, boating, hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. Florissant and its Fossil Beds are a short trip away, as is Eleven Mile Reservoir and camping at Jefferson Lake Recreation Area where trophy sized trout are the norm. Come when the snow flies and find powder as to be found nowhere else, at the handful of ski resorts a short drive away. If adventure of a different sort is more to your liking, ghost towns, tours of abandoned mines and Dinosaur museums abound both in Woodland Park and in the South Park valley.
