Aspen, Colorado Sight Seeing, Festivals, Window Shopping

Autumn in Aspen is truly something to behold. With the Independence Pass boasting an altitude of nearly 14,000 feet, this is the highest pass you can drive up to this altitude. Stop and walk above tree line, get a spectacular view of the winding pass itself and experience the serenity only found here. On the way up the pass, stop and see Independence itself, a ghost town that still stands from days of old. Note that Independence Pass is closed during winter months, so to see this wonder you'll be making a spring, summer or fall trip.

If you truly want to see the world from a birds' eye view, take a balloon ride and see the Rockies and you will never see them again. Autumn is a breathtaking time to do this, gazing down on the mountains blanketed in orange and gold with early snows capping the tips an icy white. Closer to earth, take a horse out into the wilds during summer months and see the wilderness as it was meant to be seen - from the back of an animal who has traveled these woods for thousands of years.

Below you’ll find information and listings to help you find the perfect sight-seeing trip into the mountains surrounding Aspen, Colorado.
